Description
Chevrolet Impala Old Class B
The former Class B Chevrolet, this Impala underwent significant changes in 2011. Although the engine, drive-train, suspension and brake system remained largely unchanged, the chassis and aerodynamics were substantially reworked, with the wheelbase growing from 105" to 110" to accommodate the chassis' larger (and safer) center section.
Additional features include a wider nose and more vertical headlight section, with front and rear bumpers now aligned to reduce "submarining" effects in rear end impacts. The Impala Old Class B also sports a taller rear deck, rear spoiler (fixed at a 70 degree angle) with various extensions and non-adjustable nose "splitter", while safety is further enhanced by double frame rails aligning with front and rear bumpers to improve protection in side impacts.
The current NASCAR iRacing Class B series uses the Chevrolet Camaro Class B.
