[Legacy] V8 Supercar Ford FG Falcon - 2014

Description

Based on the "new generation" concept developed by V8 Supercar legend Mark Skaife, a prototype Ford Falcon FG II underwent extensive testing and development (with the support of Dunlop) in 2011 and '12 in preparation for its competition debut. The car first raced in 2013, scoring nine wins and taking Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom to third and fourth in the overall V8 Supercar Series championship standings.

The Ford Falcon FG II comes equipped with a normally aspirated 5.0 L V8 engine that pumps-out 635+ hp through a six-speed, sequential transaxle. While its chassis dimensions are, by rule, identical to those of other marques in the series, the Falcon FGIIs are constructed by different accredited builders. Campaigned by leading the likes of Ford Performance Group and Dick Johnson Racing in 2013 and '14, the Falcon was the vehicle of choice for the legendary American Penske Racing team's initial foray into the V8 Supercar Series in 2015 with former NASCAR driver and V8 Supercar champion Marcos Ambrose.
